Two months

...have gone by since I've last posted on my blog. I've had a whirlwind of 2012 thus far, and it's only the end of February! Not that I'm complaining: our schedules have taken us to several states as well as one country (Mexico) in addition to bringing family to visit us. Until I get around to completing my editing of everything, here are a few shots I've snapped this year.

in denial

I know I've mentioned it before, I'm still in denial over summer being over.  I mean, it's not officially over, or so my calendar says.  But I know the truth.  Fall is here.  I pulled a hoodie out yesterday and have been wearing it all day today.  Last night I had to dig out my slippers because my piggies toes were freezing.  Here they are enjoying warmer days on the beach:

Admittedly this is not a good picture.  I don't like it at all except for the color of the umbrella, so I thought it was worth posting.

Anyone else having a really hard time letting go of summer?  I promise I'll stop whining about this really soon!

Summer

It's officially summer! And it has been for a few days, but I'm a little late to the party. To celebrate, I've given the blog a little makeover. It's still a work in progress, but I like it so far.

Pictures?  I've got 'em.

Look ma, no tarballs!  Destin, Florida - pre-oil disaster.

Flight delays.

Almost 99% sure I'm going to add this one to my Etsy shop soon.

Self portrait.

Another self portrait.  More interesting would have been a picture of me taking this because of the way I had to bend to get it.

The Only Sun in June

Before the month of June decided to turn into April here in New England, we did have a handful of lovely sunny days, which luckily I took full advantage of. Today's batch of photos will hopefully help you remember what summer is like, at least until the season graces us with its presence once again.

The ocean in Maine is still too cold to swim in, but it still makes for a nice scene. Off the Marginal Way, Ogunquit, Maine.

Don't ask me why, but for some reason I've been cooking like crazy this month. One of my creations was a "light" strawberry tart. I felt like a country mama as it sat next to my window in the kitchen.

I'd mentioned before that I'm fascinated by the time period between the 1950's and 1970's, so I tend to take photos and alter them so that they appear to be taken during that time. When Jon and I went to the Milford Drive-in a few weeks ago, I brought my Diana+ camera with me. But until I get that film developed, I also took this photo with my digital SLR and gave it an older look. How much did I want to join that family in the Thunderbird?!

Apollo Night with the Boston Pops and the Northeast Naval Wind Ensemble. This was a fantastic show and it was super patriotic. Symphony Hall, Boston, MA.

It's hard to take a bad picture of the ocean. 1st St beach, Ocean City, NJ.
